I am writing to inform you that we are looking to appoint one parent governors to serve on the Governing Body of The Ellesmere Port Church of England College for a four-year period.
As a parent of a student at the College, you are entitled to stand as a candidate and to vote in any election. If you wish to nominate yourself as a candidate to become a parent governor, you should complete the attached Nomination Form and return it to the College at the address (164 Whitby Road, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire CH65 6EA) in a sealed envelope, addressed to Clerk to the Governors, marked PARENT GOVERNOR ELECTIONS no later than Monday 2 November 2020.
If there is only one person nominated that person will be elected unopposed. If there is more than one candidate a ballot will be held. In preparation for this eventuality, nominees are invited to complete the attached form, which includes a short personal statement, which should be no longer than 250 words.
Training and support is available for governors, so no parent should feel deterred from putting themselves forward as a governor.
Please do give some thought to standing as a parent governor.
