You will be aware that the Secretary of State for Transport has announced that face coverings are mandatory on public transport from 15th June 2020.

Whilst face coverings are not currently mandatory on school contracts, Cheshire West and Chester Council has taken the decision to mandate face coverings on mainstream home to school contracts.

Face coverings will not be mandatory on Special Educational Needs contracts (or for pupils travelling to mainstream schools with a Special Educational Need).  Other exceptions apply to very young pupils, those with respiratory conditions or other illnesses where a face covering is not recommended.

Parent/ Carers will be responsible for providing face coverings.  The attached document outlines the need for face coverings for both primary and secondary pupils, exceptions to this, what defines a face covering and how to make your own face covering.
