Whole School Letter: End of Lockdown

Firstly, I want to start by thanking you for your ongoing support during the current national lockdown. Many of you have been juggling the demands of work/home life alongside the need to support your child with home schooling. Your hard work and the incredible efforts made by your children and our staff has ensured that everyone has been able to continue learning during this difficult time. The result of all this hard work is that rates of COVID-19 are continuing to decline and we can resume face to face teaching next week.

With the wider reopening of schools and colleges the government have given us the flexibility to have a phased return week commencing 8th March. This will ensure that we can commence lateral flow testing and remind all pupils of our expectations; whilst introducing new guidance which includes the wearing of face masks in classrooms and when moving around the building.

To give you more detail we have produced a reopening booklet for parents which is available on our website https://epcollege.org/school-reopening-march/ , which details our testing schedule, the importance of attendance, a reminder of our COVID secure routines, including the start and end of the day, standards and expectations and any frequently asked questions you may have.

If you have consented to your child taking part in testing then they must attend school on the day and time outlined below. They must wear full school uniform and will return home once the first test is complete. Monday 8th March

All pupils will return to school as normal on Thursday 11th March. When pupils are not in school they must continue with remote learning via TEAMS.

Finally, I just want to let you know how delighted we are to be resuming face to face teaching next week and we cannot wait to welcome our amazing pupils back into the building.
