Our Sixth Form
As role models for our younger pupils, our Sixth Form students are the pride of our college.
We have developed a thriving Sixth Form community which is growing in both size and aspiration. Whilst the majority of our students make the natural progression from our year 11, we have an increasing number of students who have joined from other schools and have quickly settled in to Sixth Form at EPC.
Our Sixth form is large enough to offer a wide range of level 3 courses but small enough to maintain a close-knit community. We are able to fully support each and every one of our students on vital part of their academic journey. We pride ourselves on the pastoral care we offer and the fact that every individual student is well known to the sixth form team: we know what our pupils’ strengths, aspirations and individual needs are and work together with subject teachers and leaders to ensure that all pupils meet their potential.
We are incredibly proud that an increasing number of our students are progressing to Universities and high-quality further training. Last year marked our first successful application for medicine and we have a number of pupils who are currently on our Oxbridge pathway.
We offer a wide-range of extra-curricular opportunities including roles as anti-bullying and library ambassadors, literacy and numeracy buddies, extra-curricular PE and providing support at Open Events. We also support pupils with super-curricular opportunities such as enrolment on Keele University’s Steps2Medicine programme, online MOOCs and subject-specific enrichment opportunities.
