‘Six The Musical’ – History students learn about early Elizabethan England

During a recent trip to The Lowry Theatre in Manchester, several history students from both Year 10 and 11 had the amazing opportunity to watch Six The Musical Live.

The Six Musical History trip was able to supply students with a wonderful and educational experience. The musical is a modern retelling of the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII presented as a pop concert, as the wives take turns singing and telling their story to see who suffered the most due to Henry and should therefore become the group’s lead singer.

One student said: “It was educational, and easy to remember through all of the songs. They portrayed the wives stories very well and included some humour. I can understand the importance this trip had to the students in Year 11 and their understanding of early Elizabethan England, which is one of the topics that we must revise for in GCSE History.”

Can you answer these questions: Which Queen had to put up with the most grief from Henry? Who was the best Queen to marry Henry overall?
