In June, 45 Year 7 and 8 students visited the Imperial War Museum Manchester to take part in three activity trails based around World War 1 , The Holocaust and The Cold War.
Students were also given the opportunity to speak to many veterans who work as volunteers within the museum – sharing their own aspects of history and their stories of war.
Students were able to meet a veteran from the Vietnam war who was in the American Navy. A soldier from WW2 who was part of the British RAF – He has a wonderful sense of humour and an excellent photo album of his experiences as a pilot. Mrs Pierce-Wilson said: “It was an excellent day with students conducting themselves in a wonderful manner. Another fantastic trip from the History Department!”
