End of Term Letter

COVID Information over Christmas Period

As we near the end of the Autumn Term I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for your continuous support during what has been a challenging time for everyone.   I also want to make you aware of some of the Christmas activities that your child will be part of before we break up on Friday 18th December 2020 at 1:15pm.

Over the last week our wonderful support staff have decorated the Christmas tree and set up our lovely nativity scene. Both are near the main reception area so that they can be enjoyed by all of the pupils and visitors too. Our virtual advent calendar is available on the internal screens; and this year it is being projected on our external screen for the whole of the Ellesmere Port community.  In addition, the pupils will also have the opportunity to be involved in the following:

  • Christmas Card competition led by the Art department.
  • 10th December Christmas Service led by Reverend Canon McGuiness followed by Christmas lunch.
  • 15th December the premiere of our Virtual Christmas Production – A Christmas Carol.
  • 18th December school closes for Christmas and reward assemblies will take place.

This year pupils will be dismissed on the last day between 1:15pm and 1:30pm. This will allow us to say our farewells to staff who are leaving us for pastures new.  All of these colleagues have contributed so much during their time at the college and we wish them every success and happiness for the future.  We will be joined in January by a new Head of RS and our pastoral team have been supplemented with the following staff taking up temporary Heads of Learning roles, this includes: –

Mrs Donaghy as Head of Year 8

Mr Bradley as Head of Year 10

Mr Pritchard and Mrs Pierce Wilson as joint Heads of 6th form.

I have also attached a letter from the local health board regarding reporting positive COVID cases over Christmas. It highlights to you if, or when, you need to confirm a positive case with the school. Hopefully you will not need this and you all experience a healthy holiday.

All that is left to do, is to thank you again, and to wish you and your family a restful and peaceful Christmas and remind you that school resumes on Monday 4th January at the normal time.

Take care and stay safe.
