Dear Parent/Carer
Following on from my last update, I’m now writing to let you know that we have now been instructed to close the school from Friday 20th March until further notice. From Monday 23rd March the government have advised us to stay open for the children of key workers and children with certain needs. Their rationale is that the fewer children making the journey to school, and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in wider society. Therefore, we will be following the key principles below: –
1) We have spoken to all children today about how they can access their learning whilst at home. I have also attached a letter regarding this from Mr Pritchard.
2) If a child needs specialist support, is vulnerable or has a parent who is a key worker, then educational provision will be available for them from Monday 23rd March. A text went out yesterday asking you to contact us if you were a key worker and if you required your child to be in school and thank you to everyone who responded. However, if it is possible for children to be at home, then they should be.
3) Outside of school please follow government guidance and ensure that children are not mixing socially in a way which can spread the virus. They should observe the same social distancing
Thank you again for your continued support, and we will keep in touch with via text, social media and the website and I look forward to the time when we can operate as normal. Until then I pray that you and your families remain safe and well.
Yours sincerely
Mrs C. Green Principal
