Student Leadership Team
Our Student Leadership Team play a vital role in the communication between pupils and staff, in representing our college in the wider community and as acting as role models for our younger pupils.Â
Pupils apply for roles in the Leadership Team by writing a letter of application to the Principal. If successful, they are invited for interview to discuss their skills and competencies and to outline the role they would be interested in.Â
Each member of our Student Leadership Team has an SLT-link and all pupils work closely with the Assistant Principal responsible for Sixth Form. Pupils and the AP meet weekly to discuss progress towards upcoming events, planning for future events and evaluation of impact to-date.
Our Student Leaders are:
Principal’s Ambassador:Â Sly Mupinga and Elaf Saif
College Council: James Parker
Moral Virtues: Chloe Swannick
Transition:Â Ruby Davies and Ruby Beaumont
Fund Raising:Â Lexie Hurley
Be More: Â Mansour Al-Waleed
Our Principal Ambassadors provide support to the Principal. This may include speaking at awards and events; giving tours to prospective pupils; supporting SLT and leading the team of Student Leaders.Â
The College Council Ambassador will, alongside the rest of the team, set the agenda for each College Council meeting. They will ensure that all form reps have had appropriate discussions about the agenda with their forms and will attend and minute the Year Team meetings. They will feed back to SLT following College Council meetings and will subsequently attend assemblies to inform pupils of the outcomes of their suggestions.
Our Transition Ambassador is responsible for supporting all pupils to thrive in the next key stage of their education. They support our Y6 Transition Days, Parental Information Evenings and other Primary-link events in and out of college. They will also lead Subject Ambassadors to support and advise during GCSE options evening for our Year 9 pupils. Their role in ensuring effective transition to Y12s is also vital. As the number of external pupils joining our Sixth Form continues to grow, this will become even more vital.
The Fundraising Ambassador is responsible for orchestrating our charitable giving at EPC. They will decide on our chosen charity for the year and will run a series of activities and events aimed to raise funds and further develop a sense of belonging in our college community.Â
Our Moral Virtues Ambassador is responsible for the promotion of our Moral Virtues, ensuring that they are fully embedded in college life. They will ensure that Moral Virtues are integral to pastoral and curriculum planning and that we all live out the moral virtues every day.Â
The ‘Be More’ Ambassador is responsible for upholding our belief that pupils should aspire not to have more, but to be more. They will ensure that this belief is fully embedded across both curriculum and pastoral areas and will support with the promotion and celebration of FFET Awards, trips and rewards. They and will leave a legacy behind them when they leave EPC.Â
College Council
Our College Council plays a vital role in the continued development of our College.
Each form group has a designated representative. This person, along with their form tutor, is responsible for ensuring that their form discuss the College Council agenda. They will be expected to make notes on the discussions that have taken place and to share these in their respective year team meetings.
Year Team Representatives will gather feedback from Year Team meetings and make notes on the key themes, ideas and discussions. These will be presented at the whole-college meeting, where the College Council Ambassador will take minutes.
These minutes will then be presented to SLT, where actions will be agreed. Where suggestions are not possible, a clear rationale will be provided to the College Council Ambassador.
Finally, the College Council Ambassador will attend each year group’s assembly. Here, they will share the feedback from SLT so that pupils know how their voice has been used, and the changes that are happening as a result.Â
