Year 9 student Zac Diamond from the Ellesmere Port C of E College has recently earned the Tridan Chairman’s Cup for Crown Green Bowls.
Zac currently plays for a club and also for Wales where he regularly competes with his grandad. Zac often competes against adults and is an up and coming star on the Crown Green Bowls greens around the local area. In this particular competition, Zac had to compete in several rounds against the more experienced players.
When it came to the quarter finals, Zac had to play against a very important player which happened to be his Grandad, but as hoped, Zac won the game and progressed to the Semi-Finals before winning 21-20 in in tournament.
The final was tense and Zac played against the Green Keepers wife, he expected to lose but eventually managed to succeed completing his winning streak before taking the trophy on a 21-18 win.
