Dear Parents/Carers,

As we approach the Christmas holidays, Mr Gatrell and I are delighted to reflect on what has been an exceptional term for our pupils at The Ellesmere Port Church of England College.

Our pupils have truly embodied our trust motto of ‘Aspiring to Be More, not to have more.’ They have embraced the numerous opportunities that have been afforded to them since September, and their achievements are a testament to their hard work and dedication.

We are immensely proud of our pupils success in the FFET Trust Poetry Fest and the TT Rockstars competition, where they have showcased their talents and represented our school with distinction. Additionally, we have celebrated numerous individual success stories and the participation of our pupils in a wide range of sporting events.

Our pupils have also been actively involved in supporting the local community, working alongside the parish of St Thomas to pack and deliver food hampers. Furthermore, our Year 7 pupils recently participated in a drop-down day, where they created fantastic ideas for a sustainable town of the future. Our Geography fieldwork trips have also provided valuable learning experiences for our pupils.

As we look forward to the end of term, we are excited to host our annual Christmas service, lunch, and showcase, which will be a wonderful celebration of our school community. We will finish for the Christmas holidays on Friday, 20th December at 2pm and return on Tuesday, 7th January.

While we are sad to see some of our staff members leave us this term to pursue new opportunities, we are also delighted to welcome fantastic new members to our team. Additionally, our Senior Leadership Team will see some changes, as Mr Murphy leaves us for a Trust role in Liverpool. We wish him the best of luck, and we are pleased to announce the promotion of Miss Wright to Vice Principal, the addition of Mrs Wright and Miss Clarkson as Associate Assistant Principals, and the appointment of Mr Heavey as our Senior Pastoral Lead.

Finally, we would both like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very peaceful Christmas and a blessed New Year.
