Meet the Cast of Matilda Jr.

Matilda

My name is Marianne and I’m in Year 7. In Matilda Jr. I’m honoured to play the lead role of Matilda, which would also be my dream role on the big stage. I really like this character as she fights for the rights of herself and others and encourages everybody to treat each other the same. I would love to see David Walliams take on the role of Matilda one day, I think he’d be really funny.  My favourite actor is Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), as I think every film he is in is hilarious. If my life was made into a movie, I would like to play the role of me myself or have one of my best friends play it. When I grow up, I want to be an actress

Miss Trunchbull

My name is Megan and I’m in Year 10. In Matilda Jr. I play a very aggressive character called Miss Trunchbull. If I could see any celebrity play this character, I’d pick Imelda Staunton who plays Umbridge in Harry Potter.  If I could take on any other role in this production, I’d like to play the part of Miss Honey. My favourite line in the show is “children are maggots!”.  My dream role on stage would be to play the part of Madame Morrible in Wicked. When I grow up, I’d love to do something in music.

Mr Wormwood

My name is Teniola and I am in Year 8. In Matilda Jr. I play a character who I see a lot of myself in, Mr Wormwood. I love the comedy and excitement this production has to offer. If I could see a celebrity play the part of Mr Wormwood, I would choose Ariana Grande or Kira Kosarin. If I had the chance to play any other part in this show, I would like to star as Bruce, or obviously Matilda! My dream role on stage would be to play one of the mean girls. If my life was made into a movie, I would love to see a funny, sassy, and outgoing person playing the part of me and my character name would be Chloe Thunderman. When I grow up, I would like to work as an actress, signer, or dancer.

Mrs Wormwood

My name is Pippa, and I am in Year 7. In Matilda Jr. I play the part of Mrs Wormwood, a very cheeky character. I would love to see my favourite actor Adam Sandler play this role in drag. I really like the wide range of characters in this show. If I could play any other part, I’d love to star as Miss Trunchbull. My favourite line from the show is “Russians are nocturnal, I saw it on a program last night”. If my life was made into a movie, I would love to see my best friend star as me. When I grow up, I want to be an actress, singer, and dancer.

Michael Wormwood

My name is Tyler and I’m in Year 8. In Matilda Jr. I play the part of Michael. I really like this character as he’s so funny. If I could play any other character from this show, I’d have to pick Bruce. My favourite line from the show is “I got hair!”. When I grow up, I’d love to be an actor and my dream role on-stage would have to be Spiderman.

Bruce

My name is Harrison and I am in Year 7. In Matilda Jr. I play the part of Bruce. I love this role because I get to sing most of the ‘Revolting Children’ song! I would have loved to have seen Robin Williams play this character. If I could play any other character in this show, I’d like to play Rudolpho. My favourite line in the show is “Is the first word tomato?” which is Lavender’s line. If my life was made into a movie, I don’t think anyone else could play me, I’d want to do it myself! When I grow up, I’d love to be an animal photographer.

Lavender

My name is Tilly and I’m in Year 9. In Matilda Jr. I play the part of Lavender.  I love the way Lavender thinks she is so smart when she isn’t really. If I could play any other character in this show, I’d like to try the role of Miss Honey. I’ve loved working on Matilda Jr., the atmosphere is nice, and everybody has been great to work with. My dream role on stage would be to play the part of Veronica Sawyer from Heathers the Musical. If my life was made into a movie, I would love to see Sadie Sink who plays Max in Stranger Things star as me. When I grow up, I’d like to be a teacher.

Amanda Thripp

My name is Isabelle and I’m in Year 7. In Matilda Jr. I play the part of a very sweet character called Amanda Thripp. If I could see any celebrity play this character, I’d have to choose Simon Cowell, as my all-time favourite show on TV is Britain’s Got Talent. My favourite line of dialogue from this show is “Leave him alone, you big fat bully!”. If I could take on any other role in this show, I would love to try the role of Lavender. My favourite actor is Anna Kendrick who starred in Pitch Perfect, Trolls and Dummy. When I grow up, I would like to be an actress or singer, or a care worker with children.

Hortensia

My name is Scarlet and I’m in Year 8. In Matilda Jr. I play the parts of Hortensia and the Escapologist. If I could play any other character from the show, it would have to be the part of Matilda. If my life was made into a movie, I would love to see Emma Watson star as me. Emma Watson is famous for playing Hermione Granger in Harry Potter, which is my favourite show. My dream role on stage would also be to star as Hermione Granger, or Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games. When I grow up, I’d like to be an actress or a cook.

Nigel

My name is Mia and I’m in Year 7. In Matilda Jr. I play the part of Nigel, who is a lot like me. I love all the music and the singing in this production. If I could see any celebrity play this character, I’d pick Madelyn Cline who plays Sarah Cameron in Outer Banks, which is my favourite show. Madelyn Cline and Rudy Pankow from Outer Banks are my favourite actors. If someone made my life into a movie, I would love to see Madelyn Cline play me. When I grow up, I want to be an actress.
