Letter for all Parents

Accessing Microsoft Teams Information

As you may be aware the Department for Education announced late yesterday afternoon that all secondary schools will have to follow a phased return back to school week commencing 4th January 2021.

I have outlined below what this means for your child:

  • All Year 11 and Year 13 pupils must attend every day. They will follow their normal timetable and be taught by their teachers in the building.
  • Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 will move to remote learning. They will also follow their normal timetable and work will be set on TEAMS. They must also attend academic review with their form tutor each day via TEAMS. All pupils will return to school as normal on Monday 11th January 2021.
  • Full-time on-site provision will also be available for all vulnerable children and the children of key/critical workers during the first week. If your child requires this provision they must attend school as normal on Monday 4th January. Your child will complete the work set on TEAMS by their class teachers.
  • If your child is eligible for free school meals, a packed lunch will be available for them to collect each day at 12pm. If you feel your child would like to take up this offer please email us on head@epcollege.org .I have attached a guide to accessing TEAMS which will, hopefully, support your child with their remote learning. However, if you do encounter any issues regarding TEAMS then please contact school and request a call back from Mrs Waites who will be able to ensure that your concern is dealt with by the most suitable member of staff.Thank you for your patience and support with this announcement. We are in unprecedented times and whilst I would have hoped that this directive from the Department of Education had come earlier, unfortunately it didn’t.Enjoy the festive break and as always, I hope that you and your families remain safe and well over this period.
